Obituary:

Gloria Harrell, 68, of Orlando, FL departed this life on Tuesday, July 13, 2021. Gloria was born on September 17, 1952 in Dooly County, Georgia to the late Susie W. and Abraham Simmons. She was a woman of great wisdom. She dedicated her life to service to her family and community. She and her family were active members of St. John Baptist Church, Orlando. She instilled love, wisdom, and Christian values for all of her children and grandchildren to follow. Her memories will live on in our hearts. She loved her family and showed love to everyone. Gloria was and will continue to be an inspiration to us all for living life in an exemplary way. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She leaves to cherish her love and memories to her devoted husband, Roosevelt Harrell; daughter, Phranswaz Poke; sons, Vaschon Walker, Johnathan Terry, Tyre Terry; sisters, Denise King, Laverne Majors, Cynthia Walker, Gloria Simmons; 11 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and many friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 23, 2021 from 5-7PM at the church. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, July 24, 2021, 11:00 AM at St. John Baptist Church, 30 Fred L. Maxwell Boulevard, Orlando with Pastor Rolous Frazier Jr., officiating. Interment: Washington Park Cemetery, Orlando.

    Just another soldier gone Home. I miss you already but I know God love you best. I have so much to say but time nor space would be enough to cover over 40 years of friendship. We don’t get too many true friends on this side but you truly were a devoted true friend that always told everything exactly how it is and was. Going to really miss our private talks. You’re done with troubles of this world. Take your rest and I believe your presence with God. Sandra
