Sydney Oliver Commock, 80, Of Orlando, FL departed this life on Tuesday, August 15, 2017. Sydney was born in Kingston, Jamaica on the 6th of May 1937 to loving parents Icilda Dunn and Cyril Commock. He was one of 8 children, 5 boys: Cecil, Vincent, Dervent and Dewith. Three girls: Lilly, Lurlene and Eumeta, Sydney was the fifth child and second son.

He attended Spring Garden School. He became an excellent tailor and used it as a life skill which could be seen in his smart appearance. He immigrated to London, England in 1960 and met and married Barbara Lindo in 1962. He had four children (Joan, Denver, Nigel and Gary).

He continued his occupation as a tailor then in 1965 he worked as a bus driver for London Transport until 1974. He returned to Jamaica in 1974 then immigrated to the USA in 1980. He first resorted to his devoted trade of tailoring then went into the trucking business until his retirement.

He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Barbara Commock; Hezron McDonald, Denver (Dorothy) Commock, Nigel (Lillie) Commock, Gary (Kerl) Commock; brothers, Dewith (Barbara) Commock, Vincent (Greta) Commock, Dervent (Elaine) Commock; 10 grandchildren; and a host f other loving family and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 15, 2017 from 4-7PM at the mortuary. A service of Celebration will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2017, 11:00 at Mission of Hope Worship Center, 5400 Hernandes Drive, Orlando with Pastor Fraser officiating. Interment: Woodlawn Memorial Park, Orlando.
