Senior Master Sergeant Leon Hayes, 70, of Orlando departed this life on Sunday, September 24, 2017. Leon was born on December 3, 1946 in Bartow, Florida to the late Jimmy T. Mary Hayes. He retired from the United States Air Force after several years of honorable service. Leon was a loving and devoted husband, father, son, brother, and friend will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He leaves to mourn his passing: his beloved wife, Reverend Shirley Williams-Hayes; daughters, Audrey (Christopher) Berry, Rhonda K. Hayes; son, Michael Leon Hayes; mother, Mary Hubbard; sisters, Elaine (Scott) Mues, Patricia (Anthony McIntyre) White, Cynthia Hubbard; 2 grandchildren; a host of loving relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, September 29, 2017 from 5-7PM at St. James AME Church, 1020 Magnolia Street, Bartow, FL. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2017, 3:00 PM at St. Mark African Methodist Episcopal Church, 1968 Bruton Boulevard, Orlando, with Presiding Elder Jimmy Thompson, officiating. Interment: Florida National VA Cemetery, Bushnell.
