Juanita Childs-Hughes, 74, of Orlando, FL departed this life on Wednesday, September 20, 2017. Juanita was born on January 31, 1943 to Pauline and John W. Childs in Pinehurst (Dooly County), Georgia. Juanita was employed as a nurse for several years at Orlando Regional Medical Center. Juanita was a faithful and devoted member of Carter Tabernacle CME Church, Orlando where she served in the Missionary Society, Stewardess Board and as a Sunday School Teacher. She was also active with the YMCA, Orlando and the Golden Heart Senior Club. She was a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Juanita leaves to cherish her memories to: her son, Anthony L. Culpepper; daughter, Sara Henderson; brother, Rev. Edward Childs; sister, Elowise Turner; 3 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and many friends.

Wake service will be held on Friday, September 29, 2017 from 5-7 PM at the church. A service of Celebration will be held on Saturday, September 30, 2017, 1:00 PM at Carter Tabernacle Christian Methodist Episcopal Church, 1 S. Cottage Hill Road, Orlando, with Pastor James T. Morris, officiating. Interment: Glen Haven Memorial Park, Winter Park.

My condolences to the family of a dear and blessed church Sis. Juanita Hughes one the nicest people you would want to meet. I will truly miss her smile and laughter when we would talk. God has plucked one of his angels to be at his side. She will doing her duties serving the table of the Lord and teaching Sunday school. Rest now and we shall meet again. Sis.
