James Matthew "Matt" McRae, 69, of Orlando, FL, departed this life on Monday, January 22, 2018. James was born on June 21, 1948 in McRae, GA to Alice and Lovett McRae. He was one of fourteen children. Matt graduated from Telfair High School in McRae, Georgia in 1966.

James worked at Merita Bakery for 25 years. In his spare time, Matt enjoyed working in his garden and going to estate sales looking at antiques. He also enjoyed fishing, cruising, spending time with his family, friends, and grandchildren. Matt was a dedicated member of Majestic Life Church where he participated in the Wisdom in Action Ministry. He met and married the love of his life, Geneva and to this union four children were born. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Geneva McRae; daughters, Lisa (Leonard) Constable, Kimberly Johnson, Cassandra McRae; siblings, Lovenia (Texas) Johnson, Vidonia Scott, Dewitt (Swazine) McRae; 4 grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 2, 2018 from 5-7 PM at the church. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 11:00 AM at Majestic Life Church, 821 South Kirkman Road, Orlando, with Pastor Chauncey Brown, officiating.
