Dr. Lowery was born on February 15, 1937 in Eustis, Florida, to Arthur and Florence Mae Alexander. She has always had a love for secular things and was always in attendance at Sunday School and church activities. At the age of fifteen years old she was Junior Superintendent of Sunday School and represented her church at church conventions. At an early age she accepted Christ as her personal Savior.

Dr. Lowery began her education at Eustis Vocational High School. Later she attended Bethune-Cookman College, and graduated with her Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. She later married Dr. James W. Lowery who was very instrumental in her Christian Christian growth and encouraged her in the things of God. She was an anointed, motivational speaker, preacher, guidance counselor, and an activist for hurting and abused women. Dr. Evelyn Lowery served on the Board of Directors for the Alzheimer's Resource Center and the advocacy board of the Senior Resource Alliance. In 2010 she was listed in Cambridge's Who's Who. She also served as the Sr. Pastor of United Deliverance Christian Center, Orlando. She was a loving wife, devoted mother, sister and grandmother who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Dr. Lowery leaves her precious memories with her loving husband, Pastor James W. Lowery; daughter, Symone Clark Lowery; sons, Rodney P. Lowery, Gary (Linda) Smith Lowery, Fran C. With deepest sympathy. My heart goes out to Bishop Lowery and The Alexander family.
As being one of the members at Church of God Deliverance Center back in the early 80\'s, I can truly say that Apostle Evelyn Lowery was a strong woman of God, who loved God\'s peoplme and doing all she could in the body of Christ.
Apostle Evelyn Lowery will be missed, a soldier who fought a good fight on this side and is now gone to take her rest.
Be strong family and know that we love her, but God loves her best.
