Dollie Mae Myers-Vickson, 76, of Orlando, FL, transitioned from life to eternity on Friday, July 14, 2017. Dollie was born on August 21, 1940 the youngest of 6 children, born to the late Henry and Annie Lee Myers in Perry, Florida.

Dollie was educated in Perry Florida and Orlando Florida she was employed by Sunland Hospital, she later worked at Orange County Public Schools for many years where she retired from Liberty Middle School, were she touched many lives as a skilled paraprofessional and was the PTO President. Dollie Vickson went back into the school system after retiring and was a substitute teacher for many years.

At an early age she gave her life to Christ and was baptized at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Rev. J. D. Judge. She later joined Saint Mark A. M. E. Church in Orlando, Florida under the leadership of the Late Rev. G. L. Chapman: and she also served under Bishop Samuel L. Green, and presently under the leadership of Rev. Terence R. Gray.

Dollie loved God and served Him with her whole heart, her favorite scriptures was Psalm 23 and Psalm 27 she quoted these scriptures until God called her to Him, while in the hospital she would sing Travis Greene “The Hill” this song lifted her spirits as she glorified Her Heavenly Savior.
Dollie was a faithful member of the Prayer Band, Sunday School, Mass Choir and Stewardess Board where she loved to serve. Dollie loved to cook her specialty was putting love into all of her food especially her famous, oxtails, turkey wings, sweet potato pies owned bragging rights to homemade fluffy biscuits, she always thought of others and was a giver, and family would crowd her home for her tasty and illustrious meals and just to fellowship with Dollie. She was fun, loving and a world traveler, cruising was second nature to her, she loved dancing and her laughter and love was contagious, she also loved visiting the sick and would bring them one of her loved cooked meals, she was a great mother to her children and she had a heart of gold.

She leaves to cherish her memory: Husband, Otis M. Vickson, Sr.; Children: Belinda (Jacques) Walme, Nathaniel (Lea Williams, Sheila Barnes, Carl Anthony (Jasmine) Cooper, Otis Vickson Douglas II, Felicia Mares, Iris Vickson, Shunnon (Shay) Murray Young, Otis Douglas Vickson Jr. Grandchildren: Jermaine Johnson, Shantrell Johnson, James Johnson, Carl Anthony Cooper Jr., Ciera Cooper, Christopher Barnes, Ciera Barnes, Dominique William. Great Grandchildren: Timmy Tyson, Lanisha Benjamin and Rodney Benjamin. God Children: Yvonne Shackleford, Evander Lamar Bend Jr., Armoni and Aria Rackard. Nephews: Jeff Bynes, Ronald Bynes, Moses (Reese) Allen Jr, Vernon Allen Nieces: Shanutel Minor, Aretta Raines, Sherlan (Auther) Holley, Anna Gail (Willie Joe) Oliver, Julie (Dana) Stabb, Angela (Johny) Simmons, Joan Williams, Beatrice Kenon and a host of cousins, other relatives, In-Laws and friends. Special and dear friends for whom we are eternally grateful for: Sheila Dennis and Kim Bascome, Evander( Kathi) Bend, Annie Rhynes, Kathleen McCloud, Hazel Jacobs, her special work out ladies at Any time Fitness, Earline McKinney, Josephine, Mary McAlarney, and Cecelia Pierra.

Visitation will be held on Friday, July 28, 2017 from 5-7 PM at St. Mark AME Church, Orlando. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, July 29, 2017, 3:00 P.M. at St. Mark African Methodist Episcopal Church, 1968 Bruton Boulevard, Orlando with Pastor Terence R. Gray, I, Officiating, Interment: On Monday, July 31st at Florida National VA Cemetery, Bushnell.
