Catherine Simmons, 73, departed this life on Sunday, February 5, 2017. Catherine was born on February 20, 1943 to the union of Agnes and Jimmie Lee Vance, Sr. in Cordele, Georgia. She later moved to Orlando, Florida where she was employed by Ricoh Electronics and Winfield Inn. Her passion was shopping, cooking, and taking care of her family.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories with her four sons, Clifford (Sherry) Warren, Tammie (Rhonda) Warren, Darren Jackson; two daughters, Cassandra Stugris and Rosa Jackson; sisters, Evelyn (Willie) King, Tangela Jackson; two brothers, James (Freddie Mae) Morris, Jr., and Theodore (Patricia) Hodges; 13 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; and other loving relatives and great friends.

Visitation will be held on Friday, February 17, 2017 from 4-7PM at the chapel. A service of celebration will be held on Saturday, February 18, 2017, 11:00 A.M. at New Bethel AME Church, 4201 W. Columbia Street, Orlando, FL. Interment: Washington Park Cemetery, Orlando.

We're sorry to hear of your family's loss. In the Bible, we find hope and comfort. Ps. 46:1 "God is our refuge and strength. A help readily to be found in time of distress."

Catherine will be missed,please find comfort in the words found at Isaiah 26:19 "you dead will live. My corpses will rise up.Awake and shout joyfully,Your resident in the dust! for your dew is as the dew of the morning ,and the earth will let those powerless in.death come to life. Have faith you will your love one again.
